Scd provide technical and financial assistance through our agricultural conservation, heavy equipment, and sediment and stormwater programs. Since 1991, the sussex conservation district has served as the delegated agency for the administration of delaware's sediment and stormwater regulations Projects disturbing 5,000 square feet or more are required to have a sediment and stormwater plan. The sussex conservation district was approved by public referendum in december 1943 and was formally established on february 16, 1944
Today the district implements conservation practices through our agriculture, stormwater and heavy equipment programs. Sussex conservation district hosts a variety of events to educate the public on various conservation practices as well as soil health workshops. The sussex conservation district administers numerous cost share programs that support the implementation of conservation practices by landowners, agricultural producers, tax ditch associations and other parties throughout sussex county. Sussex conservation district provides technical guidance and financial assistance to enhance, maintain, protect, and improve land and water resources.
