Welcome to freshjr's adaptive qos modification script Cake is all about fairness and bandwidth equality for all active devices on the network. Adaptive qos works amazing, but i have decided to tweak it as i have a few issues with its performance out of the box

QOS : QOS

Some of the issues are as follows If you want one device to be prioritized above all others, you probably want to stick with adaptive qos/flexqos The first issue is caused by the traffic groups.

It should be close to what your isp plan is rated for give or take 1 mbps

With qos off nat hardware acceleration is enabled which will help you hit your line speeds. I wouldn't run qos just in case, because bufferbloat may eventually happen sometime someday I don't have bufferbloat on my 500mbps isp line with normal internet use, family of four I didn't have bufferbloat on my previous 300mbps isp line

This is flexqos, a fork of the original, groundbreaking freshjr_qos script written by @freshjr Flexqos provides a fully customizable adaptive qos experience This thread is now superseded by version 1.1 posted in this thread You don't have to choose between qos options, if you don't need qos

In the interest of preventing bufferbloat, isn't qos always useful even on the fastest of connections (assuming chosen qos + hardware is capable of matching the bandwidth available)?

802.11p qos and igmp snooping are both great to have if there's enough varying classes of traffic flow on your network (.11p) and/or enough multicast traffic that it warrants proper directional filtering, to save bandwidth and improve stream quality up and down your links (snooping). Anyone else with the same problem?
