I purchased a mclane 25 reel mower I am needing to fix the throttle as it is not engaging or disengaging when being used I am not sure if anyone has any suggestions or things i can find on how to complete this I also am going to need and replace the pull starter cord and need some help with.

Roller drive handle won't stay down when i engage it Basically have to hold down to keep engaged Consistently breaks chain at masterlink in the roller drive It was doing this previously so i rebuilt the drive system with new sprockets and chains
I have a very old craftsman/mc lane i recently decided to replace I subsequently bought a couple of the mclane greenskeeper models, one to use, and the other just in case i need parts The push mowers are so easy to use that just to get a little.
